Feldspars are the most abundant mineral family in the Earth's crust, but experimental data on their elastic tensor is scarce. Their low symmetry and chemical and structural complexity make the experimental investigation of single-crystal properties challenging and existing data are mostly limited to end member compositions. We carry out ab initio calculations and benchmark our results of elastic tensor and derived properties against experimentally determined monoclinic end-member values [1]. [1] Waeselmann et al.
